What is happening
A reactive gut shows up as intermittent loose stools, a fussy or declining appetite, weight that will not stay on, or a dull coat. It is easy to normalise as "just a sensitive stomach", until you realise it has been going on for months and every food change has only helped for a fortnight.
The gut lining and the microbiome that lives on it are the front line of digestion and a large part of the immune system. But a gut that will not settle needs a proper diagnosis first, a supplement is not a diagnosis.
